The TSIA cordially invites you to attend the 8^th ISESH Conference held at the Howard Hotel, Kenting, Taiwan. The venue is located nearby the beautiful National Park, which is situated at the southern tip of Taiwan. You can enjoy the crystal, clear Pacific Ocean beach and adventure the tropical jungles at the Kenting National Park. The most convenient way to arrive is to take the connecting flight from the CKS International Airport to the Kaohsiung International Airport. Hotel provides limousine services to and from the Kaohsiung International Airport.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARING AND SUBMITTING AN ABSTRACT

STEP 1: Please indicate your topic preference ___ PFC Emission Reduction ___ Chemical Management ___ Energy and Water Conservation ___ Safety and Health Management ___ Environmental Management ___ Risk Management ___ Waste Management and Minimization ___ Government Legislation ___ Fire Protection ___ Others _______________________________ STEP 2: PREPARING YOUR ABSTRACT Prepare your one (1) page abstract for submission by following the instructions below. Please read the instructions carefully to avoid delays in processing and reviewing your abstract. •Set the top margin of your page at 1-3/4 inches (4.5 cm). Set the left margin at 2 inches (5cm). The width of the text (line width) must not exceed 4.5 inches (11.5 cm); the length of the text must not exceed 7.5 inches (19 cm). •Use 12 point Times New Roman font. •Align all text to the left margin. Do not center or use full justification on any portion of the text. •CAPITALIZE the title. Following the title, next line includes all authors. Following the authors, next line includes their addresses. Use an asterisk (*) to identify the presenting author. Single-space the text; double space between paragraphs. Do not indent paragraphs. •Abstracts must not exceed 500 words •DO NOT include references. •DO NOT include commercial advertisement. •DO NOT include software command characters, Greek letters, superscripts, subscripts, •DO NOT include figures or equations in the text.

STEP 3: SUBMITTING YOUR ABSTRACT Abstracts should be submitted to the secretary of your association (i.e. EECA, JEITA, KSIA, SIA or TSIA). If authors geometrically locate outside of countries or regions of those associations, please e-mail abstracts to judy@tsia.org.tw Electronic Submissions: File must be in the format of Acrobat (*.pdf) Abstracts must be submitted electronically. •E-mail attached file: The abstract must not contain any of the special characters described in Step 2. Be sure to include all other required information in Steps 1 and 4 in the message portion of the transmission. Faxed submissions WILL NOT be accepted. STEP4: AUTHOR INFORMATION Complete the author information on page 2. If there are more than 4 authors, use an additional page. All authors must be listed. STEP 5: NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE Once the abstracts have been reviewed, an e-mail notice of acceptance will be sent to the correspondence author by March 1, 2001. REGISTRATION All presenters MUST PAY Conference Registration Fees (it will be around US 200-250). It is highly recommended that you register in advance.

WITHDRAWALS Withdrawals must be made in writing to the TSIA office as soon as possible so that a replacement can be found.
